We are a brand built on transparency. We believe in being open and honest with the skincare ingredients we use, and the explicit purpose of each of those ingredients. We want to help you – our customers – to build your knowledge around our products, so you know not only what works, but why it works for your skin.

Our products use only the most effective ingredients. We don’t believe in using multiple ingredients which do the same job or target the same problem. We don’t want to overcomplicate your skincare routine or bombard you with multiple types of one product.

All our products are developed to suit normal skin. However, we know this doesn’t cover everyone and we need to target two skin types: sensitive skin and problematic skin.

Gentle Range – this is more suited to normal or sensitive skin. There are no added perfumes, and all the ingredients are vegan and cruelty-free! They are still highly effective and will still target main skin concerns, but they use more calming ingredients that are easier on the skin.

Complex Range – this is more suited to those who have normal skin or problematic skin. When we say ‘problematic’, this can include acne, acne scaring, uneven skin tone, redness, tired and dry skin. The Complex range has more active ingredients that target these areas of concern, but we do not use aggressive ingredients, this nourishing range can be used on more sensitive skin too. Oh, and it’s also cruelty-free as well!

We provide an ingredients guide with all products but we understand that everyone’s skin is different and can react in different ways. If you do have very sensitive skin, we would recommend doing a patch test first before full product use.

'Natural' and 'Organic' are often used by marketers to imply their products are gentle on your skin and sustainably produced but this can be misleading. Some 'natural' ingredients can actually irritate your skin.

Our Gentle range is vegan and both Gentle and Complex ranges and our Super Serum are cruelty-free. All our products use carefully selected ingredients that have been formulated and tested to ensure they are not harmful to the skin.

Our Super Serum was developed for all skin types, the design of this is in the name ‘Super Serum’ i.e., it’s super! It is a very effective product with explicitly selected ingredients. It targets a lot of areas of concerns (acne, anti-aging, uneven skin tone, redness, tired and dry skin, rejuvenation) while still being suitable for sensitive skin.

The product is a serum and not an oil. We have avoided using an oil as an oil does not penetrate the deeper layers of the skin (the epidermis) but instead sits on top of the skin.

The Super Serum is that all round product that we would recommend using in the evening after your cleanser (try not to put any product over the top of it). The Super Serum can be paired with any of our other products for maximum results.

Yes, and yes! All Amatus products have been developed for all genders and not suitable for any one type. The products are developed to be suitable for all ages.

Definitely! We have built this brand with a conscious mind and therefore all packaging is recyclable. The bottles and jars (both glass and plastic) are recyclable, the boxes they come in and the gift boxes are also all recyclable and eco-friendly. All packaging you receive can be recycled.

We do not use SPF in our products. We believe that protecting your skin from the sun is very important and is something we would recommend using specifically developed products for sun protection.

Yes, all our products are safe to use while pregnant and nursing. However, if you do have concerns, we would recommend consulting your doctor.

Some of the complex range use ingredients that aren’t vegan. However, we are very conscious of using these ingredients to ensure they are all cruelty free and not tested on animals and we would not and will never use any products that aren’t. All the ingredients have been tested and our final formulas we believe to be the most effective to achieve the objectives of each product.

The shelf life of our products is 30 months unopened and the time limit on using products once opened is 6 months. We advise this time frame once opened as the products will slowly deteriorate and ingredients will start to lose their effectiveness after this period.
